Three people charged with murder after dad found in shallow grave

Three people have been charged with murder after a father was found dumped in a shallow grave at the weekend.

The body of Jade Goodwin, 39, was located at the property on Dandenong-Hastings Road in Tyabb, about 70km south of Melbourne, just after 9pm on Sunday.

Authorities tonight said they have charged three people over Mr Goodwin’s alleged murder.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at Crib Point, in Tyabb, this afternoon. A 34-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were also arrested earlier this week.

All three will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening, police said in a statement. 

Mr Goodwin, a father of two daughters, lived in Hastings, just a seven-minute drive from where police made the grisly discovery.

Authorities revealed on Tuesday that the 39-year-old was last seen on October 13.

Mr Goodwin had been living with his cousin, Melanie Grass, who told 9NEWS he seemed to have “a lot on his mind”.

“He was a very strong-willed person. Always happy,” Ms Grass said.

“He was very loving.”

Meanwhile, several friends of Mr paid tribute to their "special" mate on social media.

"I was very blessed and lucky to have met you. You really were one of a kind," Joanne Davey wrote.

"I pray they find who took your life Jadey and when they do I pray justice is done," she added.

Another friend posted an image of himself with Mr Goodwin.

"Whoever is involved does not need to be repaid with evil. It won't change anything and on the cycle goes," he said.

Others offered their condolences to Mr Goodwin's family and expressed shock.

"This saddens me so much. So sorry this happened to you. No one deserves to go out like that."

A dirty black glove found on the driveway is among evidence police collected in relation to the suspicious killing.

Neighbours told 9NEWS the 29-acre property, which is vacant and for sale, is a hot-spot for illegal dumping.

"It’s been a bit strange. There’s been comings and goings you don’t know about. You don’t ask questions," local man Bruce Thompson said.

Mr Thompson added that there was a regular flow of cars driving around the locked front gate.
