Prisoner 'Little Tommy', once linked to Carl Williams, stabbed in Victorian jail

A man stabbed at a maximum security prison in Victoria is believed to be an underworld criminal once linked to Carl Williams.

The inmate sustained non life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital after he was stabbed at Barwon prison, in Lara, about 2.20pm on Friday, police say.

It is believed the inmate is Thomas “Little Tommy” Ivanovic, who was jailed for shooting dead a motorcyclist in 2002.

Ivanovic is a former prison cellmate of gangland murderer Williams.

The Herald Sun has reported the attack was revenge for a stabbing at the prison three years ago.

The newspaper reported that before the stabbing, Ivanovic’s “bodyguard” was involved in an incident which led to a lockdown at the prison.

He was reportedly stabbed immediately after the lockdown was lifted.

Ivanovic is serving 18 years for shooting dead a motorcyclist in a road rage incident outside his home.

He was a pastry chef, drug dealer and friend of Williams.

Authorities have not confirmed the identity of the stabbing victim.
