Thieves on the run after using sledgehammer to steal guns from Melbourne camping store

Three men armed with guns and a sledgehammer have robbed a camping store in South Morang, north-east of Melbourne’s CBD.

Police said the masked men entered the South Morang Hunting, Fishing and Camping store on Murdoch Road about 12.15pm.

CCTV obtained by 9NEWS showed what is believed to be the getaway car being driven near the store moments before the attack.

The offenders used a sledgehammer to smash a cabinet containing guns, police said.

They then fled the scene with a number of firearms in a white Volkswagen driven by a fourth man.

No shots were fired and no one was injured, police said.
