Thieves torch car after Melbourne ram raid

Thieves torched a car after smashing it into an Autobarn store in Cranbourne this morning.

The Holden Statesman was driven into the carpark of a shopping centre off the South Gippsland Highway at 4am, before being driven through bollards and into the front door of the store.

Police said several items were stolen from the store before the car was set on fire.

It is unknown how many people were in the car at the time but it is believed to have been stolen.

Investigations are continuing.
