Manhunt underway for Brisbane ATM thief who stole more than $250k

A major manhunt is underway tonight for thieves who stole more than $250,000 in cash after a series of ATM raids. 

It’s understood the thieves ripped off the door to the Suncorp ATM after smashing through the roof at a Bray Park complex to access it.

Police attended the scene around 1.30am today after an alarm notified them of the break-in.

Sophisticated cutting equipment was used to force the door of the ATM open.

The break-in is the latest in a string of similar robberies across Brisbane recently.

Detective Senior Sergeant Joseph Zitny told 9NEWS a team of detectives was working on the case.
