Thieves escape with cash after servo robbery

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Riverhills service station early this morning.

At 2.30am, two men forced their way into the Sumners Road business by smashing the glass doors.

The men jumped the counter and threatened the store attendant with a hammer and a machete, striking his head.

The men then took the till and fled the scene in a stolen white Mazda 3, driven by a third man.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
