Aussie tourist busts thief but lets her keep stolen cash

Powered by

A Balinese woman who stole from a tourist was granted an unexpected reprieve when her Australian victim let her keep some of the cash on the provision she “not do it again”.

A video capturing the moment a young woman was apprehended after stealing money from the tourist sees a crowd of people around the individual who has been stopped on the side of the road next to her scooter.

It’s unclear how the thief was caught, with the video beginning as a man thumbs through the thief’s wallet, searching for her identity card.

The card is found and the alleged victim of the theft – an Australian woman – snaps a shot of it on her phone.

Another Australian tourist accompanying the victim questions the thief, asking as she gestures at the moped “If you don’t have money, how do you have this?”

The local replies it belongs to her family.

Then her Australian mark finally announces: “That’s enough everyone, I forgive you but do not do it again.”

She hands the woman some money – it’s been suggested she stole from the tourist to buy petrol – and says “I forgive you but no!”

As the two woman embrace, the Australian says again: “I forgive you but don’t do it again. Let it be a lesson.”
