HANGING IN THE BALANCE:

* Capricornia (Nationals QLD): Sitting MP Michelle Landry leads by 148 votes with 3300 postal votes to be allocated. They're running 59-41 per cent in her favour while unallocated absentee votes are 50-50. Too early to say definitely, but more likely Nats retain than Labor win.

* Cowan (Liberal WA): Labor's Anne Aly leads by 490 votes. Early absentee votes are favouring sitting Liberal MP Luke Simpkins 52-48 per cent. If that trend continues, along with remaining postal votes, he might just get over the line. Toss-up at this stage.

* Herbert (LNP QLD): Labor's Cathy O'Toole is hanging onto a 302-vote lead over sitting MP Ewen Jones. He's getting the postal vote flow, but she's benefiting from the absentees. Jones has been behind since election night, but there's a chance he'll be in front when the last vote is counted. Down to the wire.

* Hindmarsh (Liberal SA): High absentee flow to Labor's Steve Georganas should enable him to consolidate his 297-vote lead over sitting MP Matt Williams. More likely Labor gain than a Liberal retain.

* Flynn (Nationals QLD): Sitting MP Ken O'Dowd leads the count by 391 votes. While postals are running strongly his way - 64-36 per cent - Labor candidate Zac Beers is getting the absentee vote 55-45 per cent. Unlikely there's enough of the latter to peg back O'Dowd's lead.
