One bank overwhelming had the wealthiest customers with a staggering net wealth per capita of $943,000, according to new financial data from Roy Morgan.

Ten other major banks followed with a top four bank coming in last with $474,000.

Roy Morgan chief executive Michele Levine said the wide variations of wealth between banks largely has to do with nation-leading real estate prices in Sydney and their customers' generational profile.

"Understanding these differences between locations and generations in net wealth levels across the larger banks presents valuable insights into how and why wealth is distributed in Australia as it is," she said.

11. Commonwealth Bank

Commonwealth has the least wealthiest customers of all the major banks.

It is also the worst-ranking big four.

This is most likely because their customers are Gen Z, who haven't had the opportunity to accumulate wealth due to their age.

Their customers' average net wealth per capita is $474,000.
