Teens stabbed multiple times in 'random' attack at Sydney train station

A major manhunt is underway after two teenagers were stabbed in an apparently random attack at a Sydney train station.

The 17 and 18-year-old were set upon by a man while standing at a taxi rank outside Bankstown train station just after 7pm yesterday.

Both victims received several stab wounds to their torsos during the attack.

They were treated by intensive care paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Inspector John Brotherhood said police haven’t been able to locate the weapon used in the attack.

“(They) received multiple wounds from a weapon that we’re unable to locate at the present time,” he told reporters.

“We transported them in a serious but stable condition.”

Police set up a crime scene and are now hunting for the suspect, who they believe may be with three females wearing dark-coloured clothing.

He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, and was wearing a grey Adidas brand hooded jumper, black track pants and joggers.
