CCTV shows teens rescuing woman who fell onto Melbourne train tracks

Footage has emerged showing the moment a group of brave Melbourne teens rescued a disabled woman who had fallen onto train tracks just moments before a train arrived.

The 59-year-old lost control of her motorised scooter and fell onto the tracks at Boronia station, in Melbourne’s east, about 11am.

CCTV footage shows the woman's scooter falling over the edge of the platform, shortly followed by three teens running to her rescue.

Teenager Luke Richardson was on the platform with some mates when he saw the woman fall over the edge.

Knowing the next train was only moments away he jumped onto the tracks.

“I heard a scream and a bang – so me and my mates ran down and saw her on the tracks bleeding,” he said.

One of the boys called station staff and the group managed to pull the injured woman to safety.

Rail officials said the next train was only two minutes away.

Paramedics treated the woman for cuts and bruises.

She is now recovering in hospital.
