Teenager, 17, allegedly stabbed outside shopping centre in Geelong

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after allegedly being stabbed in Geelong yesterday.

The 17-year-old girl was approached by two unknown people near Belmont Village Shopping Centre in Belmont on High Street around 5.30pm before she was attacked, police say.

She sustained a stab wound and was taken to University Hospital Geelong, where she remains in a stable condition.

The 17-year-old sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the alleged attack. (Geelong News Now).  Geelong News Now

Ambulance Victoria confirmed the teenager has been treated for upper and lower body injuries.

A spokesperson for Victoria Police said the alleged offenders fled the scene in a car.

A manhunt is now underway.

Police are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
