Second teenager dies following crash near Mudgee in central west NSW

A second teenager has died following a crash near Mudgee in central west NSW on Friday.

A Ford Festiva crashed and flipped onto its roof on Wollar Road in Munghorn just before midnight after hitting a wombat.

Passenger Jack O'Malveney, 14, died at the scene.

The driver, an unlicensed 16-year-old boy, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he died about 11am today.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
