Motorbike thief dressed as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle on the loose in Melbourne

Police have released video a man who dressed up as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and stole a BMW motorcycle from a car dealership in Doncaster earlier this month.

The man was wearing a Leonardo mask and Black and Blue brand tracksuit pants when he drove a stolen Mitsubishi van to the Doncaster Road dealership at about 1.30am on Monday 7 September.

Once inside he stole a 2015 black and red BMW S1000XR motorcycle with registration number 1R6BO which was temporarily parked inside a lift.

Before leaving the dealership, he stopped and rammed the rear gates with the van before setting fire to the driver's compartment.

He then rode off on the stolen motorbike.

He is described as being aged in his late teens to early 30s, with a medium build and between 170cm and 180cm tall.

Manningham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public help to the unknown man and locate the stolen motorcycle.
