Teenage boy charged after stabbing at party in Sydney's north-west

A teenage boy has been hospitalised with a stab wound to his stomach and another has been charged after a fight at a birthday party in north-west Sydney overnight.

Security guards called police just after midnight after a brawl broke out in the hall on Nelson Road in Box Hill. 

The injured 17-year-old was taken to Blacktown Hospital by his friends, and police arrived at the hall to find about 100 people there.

The teenager is in a serious but stable condition after undergoing surgery for his injuries, police said. 

Officers this afternoon charged a 17-year-old boy with wound with intent. He was granted conditional bail to appear in a children's court on September 29.

A crime scene has been established at the hall and investigations are ongoing.
