Teen gang terrorises Adelaide football clubs

A teen gang has wreaked havoc at Adelaide football clubs, vandalising grounds and threatening violence.

The Sturt Football Club became the latest victim of their rampage, with offensive graffiti sprayed across club facilities. 

 "They attacked everywhere, the pavers, everything," Sturt Football Club chief executive Sue Dewing said.

Volunteers and council staff worked tirelessly to clean up the mess this morning.

AFLW player Kiera Mueller said it was "devastating to see the impact on the community and everyone who's worked hard to get the facility and the club to where it is".

Police were called to the club earlier in the evening yesterday after the same group of youths left footy teams shaken.

Dewing said the group interrupted training, riding across Unley Oval on their bikes, hurling abuse and objects at players. 

One of the youths allegedly then threatened the club's property manager with a knife.

"Women were also training at the time, and we moved them to the other end. Coaching staff escorted them to their cars because they were visibly upset by the whole incident," Dewing said.

"It's just unacceptable. Apparently, this group has been moving through Unley and causing problems in other areas," Dewing said.

Nearby Goodwood Saints Football Club was targeted the day before. 

CCTV footage captured three hooded figures slashing the tires of a van near the clubrooms about 4.30am on Wednesday.

Police are yet to confirm if the incidents are linked.
