Teen drowns swimming with friends south-west of Sydney

A teenager has drowned after he failed to resurface while swimming south-west of Sydney.
Crews were called to The Basin on Georges River Road, Kentlyn, near Campbelltown, about 2.30pm, NSW Ambulance told nine.com.au.
The teenager, believed to be a 15-year-old boy, had jumped in with a group of friends but was not seen again.

An extensive search was carried out by ambulance crews and a rescue helicopter.
Police also searched the water.
The boy's body was recovered about 5.30pm.
