Teacher starts class with positive song and dance routine

A US schoolteacher has been praised for offering an energising start to class with a song and dance routine embracing positivity.

Video of teacher Heather Finch singing along while coordinating the routine with her class of young students was posted to the Facebook page of the Tennessee-based St. John Catholic School last week.

It has since been viewed almost six million times.

“Second grade has fun from the minute they walk through the door,” the video’s caption reads.

“Walk into class and I know my teacher gets me,” the students can be heard singing, while they bust moves on the classroom floor.

“Thinking cap on and you know I’m learning quickly.

“It’s going to be a good day.”

The song is an adapted version of “JuJu On That Beat”, a song Mrs Finch found on a blog.

"It's really helping them stay positive throughout the day," Ms Finch has been quoted as saying on the school’s website.
