Tasmanian man accused of making child pornography about William Tyrrell

A Tasmanian man charged with more than a dozen counts of creating child pornography allegedly produced a twisted fantasy about the fate of missing NSW toddler William Tyrrell.

Sonny Day, 59, is also alleged to have produced material relating to UK girl Madeleine McCann, who went missing in Portugal in 2007.

Day appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court yesterday charged with 16 counts of producing child exploitation material, The Mercury reports.

The material allegedly produced by Day was titled “What happened to William Tyrrell” and “What happened to Madeleine McCann by Justin Time”, court documents revealed.

There are no suggestions Day was involved in the disappearance of either child.

Other materials allegedly produced by Day were titled “Dear master, fictitious correspondence about the abuse of children” and “Twins on swings”.

Day is yet to enter a plea and will next appear in court in June.
