Woman found dead after Tasmanian fire

A woman has been found dead by fire crews who were called to a non-suspicious house fire in northern Tasmania.

The body was discovered after the Tasmania Fire Service extinguished the blaze after discovering the Railton house fully engulfed in flames about 8pm on Wednesday.

"We believe it to be the lone elderly female occupant of the house, but this will not be confirmed until further forensic testing to complete," police Detective Inspector Kim Steven said.
