Thirty-eight people lost their lives on Tasmania's roads last year, five more deaths than in 2015.
Another 279 people were seriously injured in Tasmanian crashes in 2016.
The state government recently launched a strategy aiming for zero road deaths, including a new motorcycle training and assessment program from May 2017.
