A teenage girl has been charged over the murder of a young Tasmanian father whose body was found on a roadside, while a man has been released without charge.

Jarrod Turner, 22, was found dead on Sunday morning with a gunshot wound near Richmond, north of Hobart.

Tasmania Police on Friday charged a 14-year-old girl with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

She fronted a closed court session, didn't apply for bail and has been remanded in custody.

A man, 29, from the Hobart suburb Moonah was released without charge on Thursday evening.

Detective Inspector Doug Rossiter said the investigation was "progressing as planned".

"We believe the people involved in the suspected murder of Mr Turner were known to him," he said in a statement.

"There are others out there who know what happened that night and we are calling on them to come forward to police now."

Crime Stoppers since Monday has received more than 20 reports from the public regarding Mr Turner's death and investigators are urging those involved to come forward.

Police are also urging anyone with information to come forward.

The gun involved in the shooting hasn't been found.
