Tasmanian police car goes up in flames

A Tasmanian police car has been deliberately set alight, causing about $20,000 damage after an off-duty policeman parked the marked car outside a house.

The officer was inside the property when he heard noises outside at 12.15am on Monday, and he went outside to find the car in flames.

Tasmanian Police are hunting for a man who was seen wearing a grey hooded jumper and jeans as he drove off in a white 4WD.
