A Tasmanian man has been charged over his alleged involvement in the smuggling of $1 million worth of ice, found in the underwear of a drug trafficker at Hobart Airport.

The 35-year-old Lewisham man was charged on Wednesday with trafficking a controlled substance and is due to face court on Thursday.

Terry Henry Simpson, 31, has already been jailed for more than five years after pleading guilty to trafficking one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine on a flight from Sydney to Hobart on August 24.
