Tasmania man killed by falling tree branch

A man has been killed by a falling tree branch in northern Tasmania, police say.

The 24-year-old had cut down a large tree on private property at Somerset, near Burnie, on Thursday.

"(It) resulted in a large limb falling from another nearby tree," Sergeant Steven Keiselis said, adding that the man died before paramedics reached the scene.
