Tasmania will fill a gap left by the federal government's decision to cut funding to community legal centres.

Attorney-General Vanessa Goodwin on Wednesday said the state would temporarily meet the funding shortfall to Community Legal Centres and Legal Aid as they lobby the federal government to reinstate resources.
