Tas seeks Aboriginal recognition feedback

Moves to recognise Aboriginal people as Tasmania's first have progressed, with a call for submissions to a parliamentary inquiry.
Community consultation is an important part of moves toward reconciliation, head of the Lower House Standing Committee on Community Development, Guy Barnett, said in a statement on Thursday.
"We will examine submissions received, hear evidence and present recommendations to government," he added.

The deadline for submissions is July 17, with the committee due to hold hearings in August.
