Tas police help out injured echidna

An echidna has been escorted to an veterinary hospital by police after it was injured on a Tasmanian road.

A car hit the echidna on a highway near Sorell on Thursday, and it was taken by a good Samaritan to a police station.

Police took the spiny Tasmanian to a nearby animal hospital and it was treated for an injured paw before being released back into the wild.
