Tas paramedic pay offer refused

Tasmanian paramedics have rejected a two per cent a year pay increase offer in a move the state government has labelled disappointing.

Health Minister Michael Ferguson said the offer, which follows a 14 per cent pay rise in 2015, is reasonable and blamed unions for playing political games in the lead up to the federal election.

The state Labor opposition said the government had deceived ambulance workers by trying to make them accept nearly half of a promised five per cent pay rise negotiated in February.
