Tas man threatened and assaulted at home

A gun has been pointed out of a moving car's window and a man has been bashed during an incident south of Launceston.

Police say three men arrived on motorbikes and assaulted a man at his Longford home about 11.45am on Saturday.

"A silver Holden Commodore drove past slowly with the driver allegedly pointing a firearm out of the window," Tasmania Police said in a statement.

The driver is described as male, aged around 50 with grey hair.

Police later arrested a 30-year-old Newnham man, who has been charged with assault, breach of bail conditions and drug related offences.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday.

The bashing victim received minor injuries, but needed hospital treatment after the attack.
