Shots fired from Tas home

A man has been shot in the arm after an incident on the east coast of Tasmania.

Police say it's believed a 44-year-old Seymour man was at someone else's property when he began firing shots about 7pm, before moving back to his own home and shooting toward people nearby.

He was arrested after trying to flee in a vehicle.

Police say it wasn't family violence related but believe family members were being threatened during the incident.

Charges of attempted murder, firearms offences and drink driving may be laid.
