Tas forest review open for submissions

The management of Tasmania's public and private forests is again up for review with the state and federal government launching the latest assessment and calling for public feedback.

First signed in 1997, the Tasmanian Regional Forest Agreement aims to strike a balance of environmental, economic and social considerations, and applies for 20 years with a review each five years.

Community groups and individuals can make a submission at stategrowth.tas.gov.au/forestry/rfa until May 29, after which time the Tasmanian and federal governments will negotiate an extension of the agreement, which is due to expire in 2017.
