Tas fish processors fined over waste dump

A commercial Tasmanian fishing company has been fined $40,000 over the unlawful disposal of waste water from its processing plant.
Seafish Tasmania pleaded guilty last year to three charges stemming from the 2012 events at Triabunna on the state's east coast, where truckloads of fish processing waste water were dumped on a private property.
Environmental Protection Authority director Wes Ford said it was the largest fine ever imposed under the EPA's regulations.
