Crash with postal truck kills Tas driver

A driver has died after a head-on crash with an Australia Post truck in northern Tasmania.

Christopher John Hall, 30, was rushed to hospital on Tuesday morning after the collision on the Bass Highway in Latrobe, but couldn't be saved.

The road was closed for several hours as investigators examined the scene.

Police say the Australia Post truck was left "extensively damaged" but the male driver walked away unharmed.
