Tas childcare staff join national strike

Childcare workers in Tasmania will join thousands of their colleagues around the country by walking off the job over their pay.

Staff will protest on the lawns of parliament house in Hobart on Thursday afternoon as part of what's expected to be the biggest childcare sector strike in Australian history.

"We are continuing to stand up and speak out. And we will continue to escalate from here. We are not going away," United Voice assistant national secretary Helen Gibbons said.
