Closing submissions due in Lucille Butterworth inquest

Legal teams will make closing submissions today at the inquest into the 1969 disappearance and suspected murder of Tasmanian woman Lucille Butterworth.

The then 20-year-old typist and model vanished from a suburban bus stop and police believe she accepted a ride from someone she knew and was killed later the same day.

After weeks of public hearings and evidence from family, friends, police and suspects, submissions will be made to coroner Simon Cooper, as the inquest draws to a close.

A date is yet to be set for the release of findings.
