Shots fired into Launceston house

Shots have been fired into a home in the Launceston suburb of Invermay in what Tasmanian police believe is a targeted attack.

No one was home at the time of the attack at at around 10.30pm on Saturday.

"It is believed that the home fired upon was targeted and that this was not a random act," Senior Constable Josh Hayes said in a statement early on Sunday.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has information on the incident, particularly in relation to a small silver car seen leaving Dry Street around the time of the attack.
