Serious road speed costs Tas man licence

A Tasmanian man has been disqualified from driving for four months and fined $900 after being caught doing nearly twice the speed limit on day two of National Road Safety Week.
The 23-year-old was detected by police driving at 118km/h in a 60 zone about 6am on Tuesday on Wesley Vale Road near his Port Sorell home.
"It's an example of a serious disregard for those rules that keep us safe on the road, with the potential for life threatening consequences," Sergeant Stewart Williams said.
