Scuba diver serious after Tas incident

A scuba diver has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after a diving incident in Tasmania.

A 30-year-old man was diving about 40 metres below the surface with a local dive club around Mistaken Cape, off Maria Island on Saturday when the incident occurred.

The man was revived at the scene and taken by boat to Triabunna before being airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.
