A royal commission into child sexual abuse will return to Hobart next year with a hearing scheduled to start in January.

The public hearing will focus on evidence relating to allegations against clergy or lay people linked to the Church of England Boys' Society and how the Anglican Dioceses of Tasmania, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane responded to such reports.

The commission wants to hear from people who have information relevant to the hearing, including allegations involving Louis Daniels, Garth Hawkins, Robert Brandenberg, Simon Jacobs and John Elliott, against whom legal action has already been taken.
