Parks funds reallocated: Tas treasurer

The Tasmanian government has explained cuts to parks and wildlife management funding in the state's budget, which had outraged conservationists.
The $5.5 billion budget unveiled on Thursday shows funding of more than $72 million in 2015/16 will drop to $67.7 million by 2019/20, but Treasurer Peter Gutwein said the change is due to a reallocation of money rather than cutbacks.
"(Money) that was set aside for the fuel-reduction program is now being managed by the fire service, that's all that has changed," the treasurer told ABC Radio on Friday.
