Occupants escape Tas house fire

The occupants of a house damaged in a fire in Tasmania's northeast have all managed to escape unhurt.

The fire on Monday afternoon is estimated to have caused about $30,000 in damage to the house in Winnaleah, east of Launceston.

The occupants escaped the fire thanks to a working smoke alarm, police said.

Tasmania Fire Service investigators say the fire was accidental.
