Missing hiker found in remote Tasmania

A hiker missing for two days in cold, remote and rugged southern Tasmania has been found safe and well.

Xavier Lane-Mullens, 37, was airlifted from the Mount Anne region of the South West National Park on Saturday and will be medically assessed.

"Mr Mullens is very lucky, given the length of time he was missing and the clothing he was wearing," Tasmania Police inspector Matthew McCreadie says.
