Man dead, woman injured in Tasmania double stabbing

A man has died and a woman is critically injured after they were stabbed at a home in Launceston, Tasmania Police say.
Police were called to the property in Ravenswood just after 3.30am on Thursday after a man entered the home and stabbed the pair.
It is believed the man knew the couple.

Two teenage children were at the property at the time of the incident but were not hurt.
The man died at the scene and the woman was taken to the Launceston General Hospital where she is in a critical condition.
Police are still working to locate the offender, however say he is not believed to be a threat to the wider community.
