Libs take credit for major Tas roadworks

The completion of multimillion dollar works on Tasmania's busiest section of road is being used as a coalition election promotion despite the local Labor MP having previously taken credit for securing the funding.
Federal Major Projects Minister Paul Fletcher on Monday visited Hobart to inspect new ramps connecting the Tasman Bridge and Tasman Highway and East Derwent Highway which is an upgrade that has also been proudly championed by Labor's Julie Collins.
"A re-elected Turnbull government can be relied on to deliver the infrastructure Tasmania needs," Mr Fletcher said, making no mention of Ms Collins' campaigning in Canberra for the necessary $15 million.
