Tasmanian voters have returned at least two - and possibly all three - upper house MPs who have recontested their seats.

Voters went to the polls in the Legislative Council divisions of Mersey, Derwent and Windermere on Saturday and about 75 per cent of the votes were tallied by the close of counting.

Mersey member Mike Gaffney (IND) and Derwent's Craig Farrell (Labor) look certain to win, securing 75 and 64 per cent of first preference votes respectively in a two-horse race in each seat.

Windermere is a tighter contest with four candidates for the seat, though sitting member Ivan Dean (IND) is ahead with 44 per cent of first preference votes.
