Lambie signals possible Tas poll tilt

Senator Jacqui Lambie says she has already received interest from potential candidates to stand at the next Tasmanian election representing her party.

The island state is due to go to the polls in 2018 and the Jacqui Lambie Network is yet to register for the ballot, but the leader on Wednesday didn't rule out the move, adding that her involvement will depend on the quality of candidates.

"I will need them to be able stand on their own two feet, I can't have too much distraction from the job I'm doing ... I've been out there sniffing around and there have been a couple of people interested so far," the Burnie-based senator told ABC Radio.
