A woman has been charged after she flew into Tasmania allegedly with $500,000 worth of the drug ice taped to her body.

The 22-year-old woman from Melbourne was carrying about 500 grams of methamphetamine, also known as ice, when she was stopped at Launceston Airport on Friday, police said.

The drugs were seized and the woman was charged with trafficking.
