Up to four F/A-18F Super Hornets will be flying low-level clockwise loops over Tasmania this week.
The long-range Air Force training mission begins on Tuesday and will last up to three days, the Defence Department said in a statement.
The flying route is expected to start at the northwest centre of Wynyard, tracking south over Cradle Mountain and Queenstown before following the island clockwise to St Helens on the east coast.
