Green diverts from Labor tension: Hodgman

Tasmania's Labor opposition leader Bryan Green has been accused of diverting attention away from a rumoured shakeup within his party.

Mr Green has denied there is pressure within his camp for the resignation of former premier Lara Giddings, to make way for the return of David O'Byrne - who lost his seat at the 2014 election - to take up the top job.

"I know the leader of the opposition has a lot to worry about, his leadership is under challenge. He will do and say anything this week to distract from that fact," Premier Will Hodgman told state parliament on Tuesday.
